As surgery day nears....
« on: April 05, 2009, 05:57:07 pm »
In about 36 hours, action will be taken to evict "Booger" via translab in Ottawa, Ont.  I'm not sure what I am feeling right now.  It still seems surreal.  I'm anxious to get it over with and begin my recovery.  As for updates on here, it may have to wait til I get home. My sister doesnt want to be bothered. I might be able to convince one of my sons to post.  Maybe I'll have to beg borrow or steal someones laptop in the hospital.  Maybe I'll post on f/b and Anne Marie can post on here as she is on my f/b friend list....I'll sneak my cell phone in and post on f/b.  Anyhow, I am hoping for a smooth sail along this journey but am prepared for a few twists and bends along the way.  My partner is very supportive, but he is completely illiterate when it comes to posting on the computer.  As I'm not one for many words, this is it.  I'll check in when I can and hopefully get someone to post an update...
See you all as a postie :)

Facial nerve hemangioma. Probable dx 7/2008 confirmed 4/2009. Combo middle fossa and translab to remove the blood vessel malformation and snip ruined hearing and balance nerves by Drs. House and Brackmann @ House 6/2009. Doing great!

Hi Jo,

Bon Voyage, have a great surgery and recovery; I know you are well prepared. If you can call someone or post on f/b (facebook?), that would be great, it will keep the worriers happy, but take care of yourself first and foremost.

I will also sneak in a wish to Marianna for an unremarkable MRI tomorrow.

Our prayers are with you JO!  I found myself at peace my last 48 hours prior to surgery.  I guess I just felt like the waiting was finally over and I was about to be tumor free!

JO ~

Many supportive thoughts and very fervent prayers are with you, mine among them.  Don't be overly concerned about posting surgery updates, it's appreciated but not required.   :)

Stay strong and positive!

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
