Just wondering how many people with AN had a direct family member(mother, father, sister, brother) also with a AN and NOT have NF2?

Glory: To my knowledge none of my relatives had A.N., my parents/siblings and 2/3 of thier children have had MRI's and all clear (all suffer varing degree's of migraine headaches that's why even the children had MRI's once in thier teen's). My paternal grandfather died at 32 (TB) so who's to know if he would have developed AN if he had lived longer. Kathleen
1st AN surgery @ age 23, 16 hours
Loss of 7-10th nerves
mulitple "plastic" repairs to compensate for effects of 7th nerve loss
tumor regrowth, monitored for a few years then surgically removed @ age 38 (of my choice, not medically necessary yet)

Glory, I never heard of this tumor before I had it.  Now since then I have an interest in this subject.  I never knew there were so many different brain tumors.

I come from a large family (six brothers and sisters), my parents also were from similar sized families. I too had never heard of AN until I got it.
