*walks over to Cap't Deb and sez*  Cap't, ma'm, I was a thinking about what you said at one time about Humor in Uniform...no that's not right.  Ah, Laughter is the Best Medicine..(and by the way, have you checked with Reader's Digest in case that's copyrighted?) and a thought or two came to me and it goes something like this...

*Lights dim, spotlight shines on Sue. Someone from stage right throws her a top hat and cane*

So what good’s a tumor
If ya can’t use some humor,
To get ya through the day or the niiiight?

We use a little laughter
A smile is what we’re after,
To make everything seem all riiiiiight.

We have a cyber Pirate Ship
And in her we can take a trip,
And visit every beach and cove in siiiiiiight.

Our crew is just the keenest,
Our Captain is the meanest
To cross her brings a hell of a fiiiiiight.

So what good’s a tumor
If ya can’t use some humor
And sing silly songs such as thiiiis?

I’ll tell ya what we’d do…
We’d just sit and stew…
And think of all the fun we would miiiiss.

Everybody!!  *Wenches and scallywags join Sue for final chorus*

So what good’s a tumor
If ya can’t use some humor,
Ta get you through the day or the night?

We use a little laughter
A smile is what we’re after,
To make everythiiiiinng seeeeeeem all riiiiiiiiiight!

Well, we just finished up Thing 2's first birthday party! I got him some blocks and such and for Thing 1, his big brother, I got him a Captain Jack Sparrow action figure,(as any good Grandma Pirate knows ya gotta get the other one sumpin as well,)  but his Ma made me give up the lil cutlass in his hand as we don't need to eye patch on no kid right after he just had first birthday and hasn't even got to do any plunderin or nuthin'!  Well the lil scallywag insists on callin me Captain Deb so I hadda make him walk the plank and then made the lil one crawl the plank!!
Wow are we havin fun now!!!

Grandma captain Deb 8)

PS I sung 'em both Vancouver Sue's song and they just loved it!!!

[Katie pokes her head up amongst all the backpacks, clothes, papers, lunch boxes and all sorts of other back-to-school paraphernalia]

Yes, I'm here!  Reporting for duty!

After many hours of testing this morning, the good folks at MGH have determined that I am healthy enough for surgery on Wed!  Woo-hoo!  I think it was the pirate dangly I was wearing that made me so.   ;)  (Though I did, in fact, have to explain that to the NP doing my pre-admission exam!)  I myself have white socks with red skulls that'll be coming with me, so whatever you have that coordinates will do fine.

Though, really, are pirates supposed to worry about coordinating their outfits?!?!

[Katie dives back into the swirling eddy of life with small children]

AAAAAHHHHHHH  Katie, it's more about the extra super protective power we can send ya if we're all wearing the same socks!!!  Now, you have to get word to us to let us know how you're doing as we won't take 'em off till we know it's OK!!!  They can get pretty stinky fast!!!!

Really, good luck, I will be thinking about ya lots!  You will do just fine!!!!  If I can do it and be up and running 2 months later, so can you!!!!

Thanks, everybody, for liking my song!  That was fun to do.  I did have some sort of silly tune with it, and I "sang" it for my husband.  ;D ;D  Make up your own tune I guess!!  Yes, I too was thinking....Princess Batty Wench, The Musical....

We are re-decorating our home office (read junkroom) and soon it will look like a real office. Just got the 'puter back.  So back to painting.  Later, pirates.

Looking forward to brunch in Seattle!!  Can't wait.

Sue

PS   If some big shot producer shows up in Philly (after you guys do the production ;)) ands says, "Kids, we can take this to Broadway, then I get some royalties!!"
