I actually got to see the cup when It was at the New York Yacht Club before it went to California. Big ole shiney thing it were!  They need to relax the rules on design and allow more experimentation and Yankee Ingenuity again.  With standardized boats, the folks with the most money to pay the best crew will always win!

AAARRRRRRRRRRR these pint sized tiny rubber duck tubs sailin on the precious waters owned by the Good ship PBW - phoooeeyyy I say to those little things goin up and down the water in chase of that shing silverware. Now the PBW is a ship - a fine specimen of ye olde timber, put together by bare hands. I'd like ta see those plastic fantastics go up against the sea monster!

As the good ship PBW circles around and around and around the crew get anxiuos over their Captain who seems to be firing spit balls (small rolled up piece of paper through an empty pen shell) at a 15 metre floating piece of debris that was left over from the last bit of plunderin.

The Captain appears to be off the planet and high as a kite. The grogmeister concerned that is stocks have been depleted, quickly does a stocktake of the rum stocks and discovers nothing untoward. The able bodied cruise director who has recenytly emerged from her cabin declares that the Captain needs a soothing poem.

Will we find our (forgotton title of one who writes poems) be able to soothe our Captain? will the Captain's spit balls have any effect on the debris? Has Captain parrot got bird flu?

Stay tuned

Blimey, that cussed dog of a demented sailor FORGOT me!!  Cor, it must be that wicked headache fairy be fying that poor man's wee brains!  Understandable, but I shall ponder if it be a forgivable crime or if I shall have to insist on, shall we say, a share of said demented sailor's plundered treasures (I be thinking along the lines of chocolate, me poor confused Aussie lad) to set things right and to win my forgiveness.  Some good Belgian chocolate ought to right this outrageous wrong, don't you think?  Tim Tam's might even soothe me some...the double chocolate ones me thinks.

Poem, poem...hmmmmm, .let me put me thinking cap on...if I can find it.

A Soothing Poem

Gently, softly, our ship is sailing,
Wind is pushing her on out to sea.
Gulls are crying, boards are creaking,
Ocean sounds are putting us to sleep.

Sunset colors - pink, orange and yellow,
Fill the sky with majesty,
As it fades we sink into darkness,
Night time comes so quietly.

Troubles fade away into nothing,
As our ship sails into the night,
Oh dear Captain, we hope you're better,
As we want you to be all right.

(and to quit throwing spit balls at us!)

This ship is going no where fast.  What's up ?  Sue, your soothing poem really put the crew into a blissful sleep, or maybe it was the grog again.  Gotta come up with an Energy poem and get this ship moving again!!!

Hugs

Raydean!!!

Hi! I just started visiting these forums again and saw your name. It is great to see you are still participating. You may not remember, because you provide kind support to so many people. After my AN surgery in 2000, you were very kind and sent me very encouraging posts. You were also involved in the fundraiser for Ezzy, who a few of us got to know during her time here for surgery. I had the pleasure of meeting you and your husband in person when the ANA convention was in Anaheim, near Disneyland. How are you?

Raydean, I think you are right!  I was just wondering where everybody went as nobody had visited the Good Morning thread or left a message in days!  Perhaps I put them in a stupor!  :D   Or maybe it's the crazy weather the rest of the country is having....either they are treading water, sitting in a swimming pool to cool off, or huddled by some fire to keep warm...it's just crazy out there.

Yo, everyone....wazzup?

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

chronologer suddenly awakes with the sound of critters attacking the brain with a sledgehammer!

The good ship PBW is sailing merrily away or should that read, the Captain, being high as a kite, is doing a Rod Stewart rendition of Sailing ( I think thats the title) anyway, lets sing along with mitch. Now watch the bouncing ball - anyone who remembers that is OLD!!

everybody now  - We are sailin', we ARE sailin....  woa, those men in white coats have turned up again - go away - go find a drunken bird you bleached sea monsters!

Has the sea monster turned into an analyst? has the sea monster been shot with a sedative and is calm? or is it the calm before the storm?

watch this space (please don't sing)

From the funny farm

Funny you mention that Sue, Walking to work yesterday and small jars of vegemite were being given away as a promo so had vegemite on toast for brekky this mng.

For non vegemite people - it's a very acquired taste. It's a spread that has a very strong taste and smell about it - not unpleasant but nonetheless, as a concentrated yeast extract, it's ok once in a while.

TIM TAMS ARE MUCH BETTER (shhh - had one of those too).

Better do some work now - mm, yeah, better????

That's why you Aussies are so strong and brave!  All that healthy vegemite!

Saw an interesting show on public television about the ship that brought some of the first women to Australia as prisoners and their stories and how they helped to civilize Australia.  Very interesting.

Could you tell us the name of the show on the first women to immigrate to Australia? Ancestors on my father's side are from Sydney (originally England) and he has been actively researching genealogy. I know he would love to see it. Thanks!!
