Cap't Deb,

A brief look around amazon brought these books up; is any the one you are trying to remember? Perhaps they may be good additions to the ship's library...

Also, thank you for your determination, inspiration, and good cheer. I am sure that I am not the only person who rarely posts but who is encouraged and strengthened by your posts. Thank you!
Joanne

How fascinating.  Didn't realize there were women pirates in the real world, except for Cap't Deb.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR Joanne! Ye be a Wench, ye be--thanks so much fer alla them book titles--I'm a'printin' em out as we speak! The book I refenced was a work of fiction, however, and I may start a'lookin' fer it meself. I have heard tell of Anne and Mary--me and me fellow lady swashbucker Marge usta impersonate them every chance we got! Halloween at Foxy's was our favorite!

Hi Deb:

I don't think so.  I did an "advanced" search under my name and didn't come up with anything for pirate music or sea chanties. Sorry, that doesn't sound like something I would know about!!  I did mention Talk Like A Pirate Day, having originated in Oregon.  I did find this after I googled Pirate Music:

Hi Deb

I think it was me.  It was something that I got off of the new Netscape and I think it's posted under the headache or the headache medicine thread  of yours.
Pretty sure it's the one where you were discussing the drugs your doctor was giving you.
Have a great day

Bono and Crew Set Sail Under Jolly Roger
Posted Jun 29th 2006 1:50PM by TMZ Staff

"Pirates of the Caribbean" director Gore Verbinski isn't satisfied with just sharing his vision of pirates, he wants us all to hear their music. Gore Verbinski, Johnny Depp and Hal Willner have joined forces with Anti Records to create "Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys," a two-disk CD with more songs about the sea and pirates then you can shake a peg leg at.

Bono, Sting, Nick Cave and a host of other singers lend their talent to the swashbuckling album. Artists recorded their songs- usually in less then a day- with any of the six house bands set up in destinations around the globe. At one point, eight songs were recorded in one day by eight different singers.

Over 600 songs were drudged up by producer Willner who rummaged antique stores, eBay and the Internet, culling together the list. The list was eventually shortened to 60 recorded songs, 43 of which made it onto the album, which is slated for a August 22nd release.

Check out Bono's rendition of "A Dying Sailor to His Shipmates" Truly uplifting stuff.

And Sting's rousing rendition of " Blood Red Rose

Thanks Raydean! I found it and thought this thread would be a good place to put it--thecakes hasn't been around much--funny how this thread got hijacked into piratedom!

There were some interesting photos and yes, some of that wench wear would go down well on the good ship PBW, but the wenches would have to be hosed down first!

And yes Capt deb - far too much time on yer hands!
