Thank you everyone for the kind words. I thought I'd dust that one off, since it sort of fit into what was being discussed and I wrote that one a year and a half ago so there is a whole new audience to share this one with. HOWEVER, I will not nor will I ever SING on Oprah! Wow, that'd be the end of her career in 30 seconds flat! Wish I could. In another life, I'm a song and dance gal. Not this one, sorry to say. However, on the Princess Batty Wench, Sue can sing like Lily Langtry! I don't know what she sounded like, 'cause I'm not THAT old, but I bet that girl could sing!
And thanks, Pooter, for the encouraging words on my "creative writing". It's fun.
You know, I thought of a great kids book the other day. Well, at the time, it seemed "great"!
I was watching Diego, the dog we are dog-sitting for our son during the day, looking out the window at the birds and squirrels and I said, " Looking out the window and what do I see, but a big, red robin looking back at me." Or words to that effect. I had all sorts of things going through my head and I thought...wow this would be a neat kids book. Probably been done before...but you know...interesting stuff in your own backyard kind of thing. So, then I thought I'd write this down, a day or two later. Do you THINK I could remember all the cutesy rhymes I had going on that day. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Faded away into the grey matter of my aging, AN affected, addled brain!
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!! I was so mad. Maybe it'll come back to me and I'll be sure to write it down right away. Then, Deb - you can draw the illustrations! I mean I had a great thing going there, until I forgot it all! I even had a cute ending, but I do remember that one. So, say Deb does the drawings, okay? "This book was made especially for YOU, it was drawn by Deb and written by Sue!".
I
'm alone a lot...I amuse myself, what can I say.
