Yes Sue,
I've come to the conclusion thatâ€â€at least in my caseâ€â€my most vivid experiences have come to me "au naturale" when my mind is free and clear of any controlled substances.
I had dreams as a toddler that are as deep and sophisticated as any that I've had as an adult. I remember some of them and have written them down.
I remember reading about an experience the great Swiss Psychiatrist C.G. Jung had described in his autobiography, "Memories, Dreams and Reflections". He describes in great detail a dream that he had as a toddler when he was way too young to consciously know anything about symbolism or mythology; a dream so vivid and powerful that it drove him to embark on his career in Psychiatry, creative research and formulation of his groundbreaking theories of the Anima/Animus and "Collective Unconscious".
When I read his book in 1981 it was nothing short of a personal revelation for me, for I had experienced similarly powerful dreams as a child.
C.G. Jung was a great man!
