Dizzy again
« on: May 20, 2009, 02:47:57 pm »
Hi have had a translab surgery last october and everything seemed to be going for the best until last month I started felling dizzy and nauseous again . Am wondering when will that feeling go away and am I stuck with it? Just wondering how long it took for others who had the same surgery to get that feeling away for good.

Hi Juliette,

I don't have an answer for you, but hope that it subsides soon!

Hi Juliette,

sorry you are not feeling well. It is possible to feel setbacks for quite some time after surgery. Are you feeling tired or stressed? That may worsen dizziness. But it could be something different also. If it continues, maybe you should consult with your doctor?

Best regards.

Juliette ....

Although I did not have translab, but retrosigmoid 15 months ago, 10 days ago I suddenly had a severe attack of vertigo with nausea for the first time since the week of my surgery.  As usual, I had a panic reaction to this, but I waited and sure enough within about a week it slowly got better.  I have no idea what caused it.  However, as Kenneth said, if it continues, you should check with your doctor.

I had translab in January with no balance / dizzy issues at all (had been quite 'wonky' prior to surgery). Now at least part of everyday (sometimes more when I'm tired) I feel tipsy and sort of dizzy, but without nausea.  I think that would be the worst. Hope it subsides soon, or you can figure out situations that may trigger it or do something that helps (walking / running helps me even though it's slow to get going).

Juliette,
Sorry to hear about the nausea/dizziness.
I had translab almost 3 years ago. The dizziness still worsens with stress and hormones (premenstrual). I don't know why that is but it is like clockwork! So I still have dizziness at times and it  probably will continue.
It's a matter of changing what I can/can't do during those "dizzy" times. I think it transfers to the dizziness in the brain too so now I have an excuse!
Balance exercises might help, but yes definitely see what the doc says.
Dizzy with you,
Maureen
