Well, I did promise Phyl that I'd keep Lori's halo in line in exchange for a little favor she granted me.  I'm glad she behaved  ;)  Kay, Dave, and I actually spent lots of quality time with Lori - and her family.  I have some lovely drawings from her daughter Paige.

Thanks for pointing out Sharon to me, Steve.  I was so hoping to meet her, but somehow missed her.  At least now I can put a face with a name.

Kay, I guess I missed the squirrel joke also, but he is cute!

OMG, I love the squirrel, Steve!  ;D ;D ;D  Thanks for humoring me!  :D It has been all over the news (but all you travelers may have missed it). It popped into a couple's photo on vacation and immediately became a legend -- they've been doing the morning shows and CNN did a funny piece on it today (which I was watching while I looked through here.... and so it went)! http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2009/08/_nuts_is_now_a.html

Kaybo, I totally wanted to find you before I left too, but after a few slow goodbyes I thought of my dogs home with their legs crossed and finally hightailed it out. I had been out at an air show party in the afternoon, so it was a long day for me even though I wasn't doing anything constructive like symposium sessions. It was sooo fun to meet you & your hub, and you looked gorgeous Saturday night!

Facial nerve hemangioma. Probable dx 7/2008 confirmed 4/2009. Combo middle fossa and translab to remove the blood vessel malformation and snip ruined hearing and balance nerves by Drs. House and Brackmann @ House 6/2009. Doing great!

Thanks everyone for sharing all of the wonderful pictures.  I feel like I really missed a great time.  Who knew Lori was so tiny!  Gosh with my height I would feel like the Jolly Green Giant and she'd be the Little Green Sprout, if I stood beside her!  How tall are you Lori?

Nice PINK hat Sara   ;D

I was wondering her exact height too - I was majorly "squatting" down so she wouldn't be dwarfed between Jan & me...

Sara, you look great in a pink hat. Point taken.  :)

Steve

Thank you for the compliment, but I think it is now time to return to dropping hints on a subtle and seldom basis. I think it's more fun for both of us. As much as I covet a Steve original, receipt will deprive me of one of life's little pleasures.

Lori is amazingly tiny, especially compared to me.

I even took my shoes off for our JKL picture - we make the strangest set of triplets I've ever seen  :D

Jan, is that you wearing the hot pink shirt on the left of one of the triplet pictures?  If so, you really need to change your forum picture.

Yes, Sharon, that is indeed me.

While I hate to admit it, I have put on lots of weight since my profile picture was taken and I decided to let my hair grow; I haven't worn it this long since high school.

I'm hoping to have a new boss any day now, which in addition to relieving my stress level should give me time to exercise, sleep, and get my kids and myself off this fast food diet we've resorted to in the past 6 months.  Changes are ahead.  Maybe I'll post a new profile picture then!  Wish me luck  ;D

I only asked because you are far prettier in real life than in your Forum picture.  Hope you get a new boss soon.  You don't look fat, you look quite striking.

I forgot to mention another way you might have known who I was.   I took a bad fall the evening before the symposium and the area above my upper lip looked as though I had some hideous, leprous, disgusting sore.  It was the superglue that they use in ERs now instead of stitches.  Luckily my days of excrutiating vanity are over--so much so that I forget that I have the thing until I see someone's eyes drift down while they try to suppress a slight twinge of disgust curling their upper lip.

Soon I will have to wear a band-aid to protect it from the sun.  That, too, will be lovely.  I, again, won't care much.  I will wish I didn't have it when I sing at my niece's wedding Sunday, though.
