Steve DOES have a life - and I'm always amazed by the things he accomplishes, including his knitting.  I can sew on a button, and that's about it  ::)

Molly, I don't think Steve's ignoring you, but as Sara said, the hat waiting list is long - and Steve has his moderator's gig, his "real" job, etc.

DHM -  here's the thread you are referring to http://anausa.org/forum/index.php?topic=5644.0

And Steve, if you're reading this, how can you just ignore us?  Don't think I'd have the willpower to just read and not give my 2 cents worth  ;)  :D

Don't feel bad Jan, you are one step ahead of me!

On a related note, I would think a baseball hat is too tight to wear comfortably post-op.  Sounds like the Hat Man ("...cause I'm the hat man, yeaaaaah I'm the hat maaaaaaannnnnnn...") is flooded with requests right now, so any suggestions for a comfortable post-op lid would be appreciated.

Dennis -

very good question; never thought about it myself.  We women have a lot of options - straw hats, scarves, etc. - but I never gave the guys a second thought (nothing personal).  Perhaps a bandana?

DHM ~

I don't believe that everyone (male or female) necessarily looks good in a hat, no matter the style, although some folks look better than others in certain styles.

I look terrible in a hat - any hat.   I've tried on cowboy hats, baseball caps, fedoras, etc and look ridiculous in all of them.  I just don't have a the correct type of face for a hat to look good (broad features).  I look especially unattractive in a knit cap/hat, which is why I haven't asked Steve to knit one for me.  Conversely, my wife looks adorable in almost any kid of hat - but she never wears one.   Admittedly, this is a very subjective opinion (who looks good in a hat) but I stand by my conviction that some people just shouldn't wear a hat - and I'm one of those people.  Fortunately, most folks like wearing a hat and thus keep Steve's knitting needles clicking.

I'm with Jim on this one.  Some men look ridiculous in a hat ..... my husband for one.  Thank goodness he agrees and never wears one, even when it snows!

If he ever had to have a scar from AN surgery, I hope he would just make a joke out of it by saying he got it paddleboarding, alligator wrestling ...... or some such thing.  (Those of you who met him this summer can probably agree with me that he is NOT the paddleboarding or alligator wrestling type.   ::) ::))

I respectfully disagree with this.  I think I look damn good in my hat  ;)  although my kids aren't too crazy about it  :D

Jim, I think you should change your mind and get on Steve's list.  If you decide the hat just isn't for you, I'm sure Tina would look great in it.

I'm with Jim on the hat thing!  Hats make me feel claustrophobic and probably a good thing because I don't look good in hats.  The only hat I have ever worn was a cowboy hat in my barrel racing days, but thankfully usually lost it by the second barrel!
I have certainly enjoyed seeing all of the hat wearers on the forum!

LOL!  The picture is priceless.  I may have to pick up a sombrero.  Very subtle, yet oh so stylish.
