Mike (loose screws) Update
« on: November 17, 2009, 08:33:26 pm »
Hi All,

Mike's son, who is manning the updates on Mike's blog, was having a few problems connecting to the internet - so Mike's mom asked if I would pass along the latest news.

Mike is doing well, having dinner in ICU and waiting to be transferred to a private room. The docs were able to remove the entire tumor. He's not having any facial issues, but was having problems with dizziness. She also said he was nauseous at first, but later felt good enough to ask for seconds on the sherbet. :)  She said he's complaining just enough to know that he's doing OK.  :)

Mike thinks they may not have been able to save his hearing, but his mom said he is very happy that the tumor is out.  ;D

Hopefully his son will be able to give us some more news soon.

Congrats on your new postiehood, Mike!

Nancy,

Thanks so much for keeping us posted on Mike.  I've been thinking about him everyday and hoping to hear good news.  Wonderful that they got the whole tumor and he has no facial problems.  What a blessing!

PPS:

having dinner in ICU

I couldn't even think of food in ICU, let alone eat any -- so he's already doing great!

Nancy .....

Thanks for the update on Mike ...... sounds like he is ahead of schedule if he is asking for seconds on sherbet in the ICU!!  Yeah for no facial issues.  As for the hearing, he might still have some return yet if he did not have a translab.  This is the good news we like to hear!

Prayers continue for an uneventful recovery.

Wow, sounds like Mike is doing well.

I was nauseaus and dizzy for days - didn't eat until about day 4 or 5.  Glad Mike was able to have sherbet so soon - it will help him feel up to walking in a day or two.

Thanks for the update, Nancy.

Nancy, thanks for the update.  I was checking his blog all day yesterday and started getting worried that something hadn't gone well...Sounds like it all went fabulously!  So, MIke, if anyone is reading this to you, way to knock it out of the park!  If you are eating in ICU, you are WAY ahead of the game.  You will be amazed at how you feel by the end of this week.  Keep us posted and I LOVE the picture of you in icu, holding the magic scarf in your hand.  Working its magic, as always!

Just stopped by the blog - great pictures!!!
His son is doing a really nice job on the blog.  I know Mike was a bit worried what might get posted, but IMO Junior is handling things like a pro.

Hopefully we will get some more good news from St. Vincent's soon!
