You can find both the traditional and the endoscopic videos on the Skull Base Institute website.  The endoscopic is a real person but the traditional methods are not.  I hope they are helpful for you.

ALL surgeons seem to have their own methods...mine filled the whole with bees wax and surgical glue( super glue) my head is a bit lumpy but otherwisr its seems fine.
I was looking forward to losing some of the tummy..lol

Very interesting.  I've never heard of a doc using bees wax and super glue 

The amount of fat taken from the tummy isn't enough to really make a difference.  Most of us ask the docs to take more, but sadly, they never do

Bees wax and Krazy glue - that is interesting!  I guess it's better than duct tape!

My surgeon explained that when they drill the whole, there is nothing but pulverized bone left, so nothing to put back.  After the operation, they pack the hole with belly fat, then use a fast curing "spackle type" compound that hardens like bone.  After reading all the other methods, I have to say I prefer this one.

I had retrosigmoid, and according to my surgical report my head is closed up with a titanium plate and "norian" bone.

Sometimes don't you just wonder if they shove whatever they happen to find nearby in there?     Yesterday's newspaper... Silly Putty....a bean bag....  "Uh...let's see...here's an old pillowcase - let's just ball that up and use that".

I let my kids call me a fat-head and don't find it disrepectful at all.

Afterall, technically it's true and I get a chuckle out of it myself; plus they don't do it in a mean and nasty way.  It's kind of like a personal joke between us.

I've always tried to look at the lighter side of brain surgery - humor keeps me going.

My sons are not the problem...it is my sisters.  46 years of sibling rivalry does not disappear overnight. but they are wonderful in that each spent a week in the hospital with me to keep company and allow my wife to work.

That's the reason I didn't tell my sisters I had fat in my head!     They'd have a field day with that!  Being the baby of the family, I've taken enough unwarranted ridicule - I'm not going to fuel the fire!
