Picked up my 1 year MRI - before and after picture
« on: April 25, 2006, 06:46:19 pm »
Most of you know I had my one year MRI check-up last Friday.  Well I finally had the guts to go pick up my MRI CD and take a look.  Check out this comparison, what is all the white I am seeing now?  Is that scar tissue?  Is it the fat that they took from my stomach and put in my head to create the "fat pad" as they call it?  I'm sure my doc will tell me exactly what's going on next Friday, but I think the tumor is gone.

The top two images are how things look now.  The bottom two images are from last February before surgery.

I think that you are correct in your thinking that you are seeing the fat that was packed in there. Did you get a report with your films? Mine always mention the fat. My films look similar, although I still have a tumor on the other side :-\ In my totally unprofessional opinion, your films look good.

Stein,
I had an MRI at 10 months post-op looking for a CSF leak to explain my horrendous headaches and there was a funny white place where the tumor used to be.

stein78,
Congratulations on the MRI.  It looks like the tumor is gone, and the brain structures have rebounded nicely.  Let us know how you will be celebrating.

My post op's look very similar and from what my docs tell me it is fat and scar tissue.

You definetly must celebrate!  I did and do each and every time I have my MRI's. I have had 6 of them now and loving the new MRI machine that only takes 20 minutes and thats with contrast.

Take care,
Matti

Thanks everyone!  I'm feeling pretty good right about now!  ;D The icing on the cake will be to hear the Doc tell me that everything looks normal.  But it is reassuring to hear that it looks normal to all of you fine folks.  :D

Stein: Looks good to me and yes I think that is the fat that has shown up on the "post" MRI.

Stein78, looks good to me.  Congratulations!  I know you have to hear it from the dr to make it official but it  looks like  you have plenty of reason to be very happy.  Thanks for showing us the pics.  My dr never said anything about putting fat in my head, I guess I did'nt  need it.

I was told the fat was supposed to help prevent headaches.  It must have worked, because I don't have any.  :)  Thanks again everyone!
