Gamma Knife® and Synergy S® systems
« on: June 08, 2006, 11:22:39 am »
It looks like the Riverside Regional Medical Center here in Newport News, Virginia is about to open it's doors!   I read in the article that it is to house both a Gamma Knife® and Synergy S® system.
Has anyone heard of the later system?

Here's a link to the article:

I have not heard of Synergy S, but I found this on the Web...

The Synergy S, like the Gamma Knife®, uses precision technology to treat tumors, lesions and malformations throughout the body and brain.

Synergy S treatment is available for cancers of the breast, prostate, lung and spine.

The combination of the Gamma Knife and Synergy S at Temple University Hospital allows our physicians to treat patients whose options may have been limited by the equipment used at other institutions.

I tell ya, one of these days (in the distant future), conventional surgery will be obsolete!!  They will have surgical rooms set up at the Smithsonian and people will marvel how crude medicine once was.

Sue,

I love your comment   "The thing can stay there if it behaves itself"    That's a riot   ;D

Be well!
