Positive things we are grateful for in 2010
« on: December 30, 2010, 11:36:33 am »
Although we're generally a positive bunch on the AN forum, by nature, we're also focused on symptoms, side effects, disabililty, etc.

Anyone else want to start a list of positive things we'll remember about 2010?

For myself, I'll remember this as a great year, despite the discovery of my AN and its treatment.

1.  My son, daughter-in-law, and cutest grandkids in the world came to live with us temporarily.  We're pretty sure the grandkids have magical, healing powers!
2.  My husband and I fulfilled a life's dream, and bought a sailboat, which we plan to live on
3.  My daughter got married

I will be glad to chime in on this one!

1. My faith in a God who has shown me mercy and an enduring love throughout all my trials
2. My husband...faithful, loving, and totally nonjudgmental
3. My children...responsible young people I thoroughly enjoy
4  My friends...old and new...who enrich my life with their understanding and humor
5  My health...I have a new appreciation for being able to do even the most ordinary things in life!

The list could go on and on. I am awash in blessings

A very partial list...

1. Our daughter graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, was commissioned as an Ensign, and is well into her training to be a Navy pilot.
2. Returned to full time employment in a great school not far from our house.
3. Managed to sell our house in Hawaii and not take a loss on it.
4. Managed to not fall off the roof.

..thanks for being.. migoi

I am most grateful that 2010 became 2011.

I'm hopeful that the new year will be a wonderful year for me - and everyone else.

2010 was an amazing journey for me. Despite the difficulties and challenges, I would not have missed it for the world.

It brought my wife and I closer together.
I got to keep living.
I learned an awful lot.

All signs are already in place that 2011 is going to be awesome.

this is a great topic, and i've enjoyed reading what everyone is thankful for.
our 2010 was pretty painful, but it got better.
*my daughter had a rough go of it with depression and was hospitalized 3 times. we found a new school (it wasn't all due to that, but that was a huge factor) and she is now attending there, and that has made a significant difference. we are thankful for that.
*my son in the USAF didn't get home at all in 2010.  i went to see him in may, but the rest of the family hasn't seen him since last december (year ago). he will deploy soon to afghanistan so we will be hopeful and thankful that we get to see him very SOON!!! i hope. we really working on seeing him before he goes, just have to work around his training schedule.
*i did meet two forumites!! tim (migoi) and lori !
*we are healthy and i don't ever want to take that for granted.
*i'm thankful for the growth i've had, both with the Lord, who has helped us through,  and others as we've dealt with my daughter's depression. i've made some new friends, and quite a few others have opened up about struggles they have had or are having with similar issues.
*i'm thankful it's 2011!
