Hi Dave,  Keep us posted and take care of yourself!  I have an appt with McKenna in ~1 week to discuss options.  My preference at this time is surgery.  Best wishes.

Hi Dave .....

I missed your original post because you posted just as I was leaving for California for my most recent surgery.

Just wanted to add my thoughts and prayers as you approach your surgery date.  This next month will fly by so do some fun things while you are waiting.

Hi Dave,
Glad you have made you decision to have surgery on August 5th, that is one of the hardest parts is making a choice.  Now all you need to do is relax and let the doctors do their job.  One thing we all learn is we are not able to just ignore our AN, it has to be dealt with .  Once you have had your surgery you will be able to get on with your life.

I did not have surgery , I had the gamma knife but I know how confused I was trying to decide what to do .  I am happy with my decision so far , but I did have swelling like you mentioned and if your tumor is close to your brain stem I think you have made a good choice for you.

I will keep you in my prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with you on August 5th.  Good Luck and be blessed with a speedy and unremarkable recovery.  :)   I am a wait and watcher for 18 months now and about to go for my MRI check up.  Like you part of my problem is that I just don't want to make a decision because no option is risk free.  So far I am happy to say there has been no growth up to this moment (that I yet know about).  I am of course hoping that my status stays the same.  My insurance has changed dramatically and I may not have as many options as before.  I may not even be able to travel outside of NJ (not even to NYC or Philly).  I am concerrned about that, but I can't borrow any more worries.  I just wanted to add some support and let you know there are lots of us out here pulling for you.  Lauren
