I have my own personal list of people who attend the symposium regularly but not on the forum here.    One couple from MI said last time was their 9th one.    She had the AN.    Know of 7 people/ or couples who have come 2 or more prior to this one and aren't here or were a long time ago.
There has been mention of it on the ANA facebook too but not sure who might be coming of them      Several drs have been there regularly, including the HEI drs.     Dr Slattery now recognizes me from previous symposiums and he is wonderful to talk to.  Dr Ravi Samy was in on my first AN surgery while as a fellow in Iowa City.     My surgeon says I am to tell him hello from him.

Cheryl

Will you and that marvelous spouse of your's be there? I can't keep up with who noted they were coming from the forums......  Totally agree about Dr. Slattery.  Not my doc but met him at the last symposium and since then, have had communications with him.... great guy!

Is anyone up for organizing a Forumites supper together on Thursday night?  I really physically probably should not take on this responsibility, but I would sure like to have an additional time to see everyone.

If anyone is familiar with the area near the symposium hotel, can you suggest a quiet restaurant (or one that has a separate room) where we could gather?  We gathered in Chicago on Thursday night, but unfortunately the restaurant was lovely but noisy so it made talking difficult.

Clarice, Thanks for mentioning this .  I was going to post something about it, too.  We aren't leaving till Weds afternoon so will get in Thurs afternoon as it is not going to be an all the way trip with no stop.   I wonder if the hotel would have an idea of a good place?   Could we let the symposium planner know?  They might be able to ask the hotel where a good place is.  Anyway, we will miss the friends who came last time - and can't wait to meet the new friends this time!

OK, I inadvertently made a connection on the Chicago Thursday night supper gathering place.  Did not mean to imply that anyone was responsible for choosing a noisy restaurant.  As I remember there were not that many choices for quiet places near the Drake ...... being the hopping city Chicago is in that area.  Most people enjoy loud music to make them feel "with it."  One of the local AN gals knew the food was good there and each could have a choice for type of food so that's how we ended up going there.  Nothing wrong with the restaurant, just not an easy place to talk with each other.

(Sorry, Kay!)

As a newbie, I am attending my first symposium in Cincy.  I am really looking forward to meeting some other forumites.  Although I live in Ohio, my knowledge of restaurants in Cincy is totally nil.  See you all there.
translab surgery of 2.6cm neuroma, right side, by Dr. Welling at Ohio State, 6-18-10.  BAHA base placed on same day.  Facial paralysis. Gold weight 7-14-10.
