Blow nose and air comes out of eye!?

I have had a bad cold and didn't want to blow my nose - you know.... morbid fear of CSF leaks or unblocking the eustation tube etc.

Anyway I ended up with no choice and when I blew my nose air came out of my AN side eye!  I called hubby in to see if he could hold my eye shut while I tried again but I was unable to blow my nose on that side.

Anyone else had this little conundrum and what did you do about it?

I'm on antibiotics to try to clear the cold up as quickly as possible due to only having 12 days to go before the 12/7 graft and sling operation.  I'm smothered in vapour rub and having lemon in my tea, chicken soup, and staying rugged up at home (it's winter here).

I think that is what I had to use in the hospital - like a nose wash.  I'm seeing the ENT on Wednesday so will ask him about it.  If this cold lingers any longer I'm guessing that the op will be put off.
Just another twist of fate to get used to but at least I know I it will still happen.
