« on: November 22, 2011, 10:25:50 am »
I just ordered my ponto power today...Cant wait for it to come in...My bp100 is going back to 'hospital' to be readjusted again...Once its in working order, there is a family with a young son I plan on giving it to if they will have the unit.

Yaaaaay, JO .....

I hope you will be as happy with yours as I am with mine.  I also hope you have a good audiologist who will work with you until it is programmed just right for you ..... that is essential for good results.

Very cool to hear (no pun intended!)  Just a question though, I didn't know the abutments are interchangeable between Cochlear and Ponto?  I had heard they were different? I know this has been asked before...

Should let JO answer, but she has the earlier Cochlear abutment, which is interchangeable with the Oticon.  Cochlear did not change their abutment until this year.  New Cochlear BAHA users cannot switch.

Clarice is correct. I have the old abutment, so I can interchange them....I feel lucky....now I'm trying to find a home for the bp100...must go to a child whose parents cant afford one...

I am happy with my BP110 Power by Cochlear.  The demo was not great and still had feedback issues.  My audiologist has been able to tweak the BP110 perfectly and I am much happier.  I get the occasional "whistle" if I am around loud noises, but in the course of a normal day, I forget I am wearing it.  That was never true with the BP100.  At the point of my decision, I probably would have gone with the Ponto Pro Power if I had had the interchangeable abutment.  I think I missed that by about 3 months!  However, this is working out for me and I'm a happy camper.

Great news on finding a home for your Bp100! I am sure that has really made a family's day.

I look forward to an comments on the Ponto Power. I have the Ponto Pro and am pretty happy with it.

JO, I would like to express my appreciation to you for giving your abutment away to a child in need!
This present just came right on time for a family. I am sure they had a very special Thanksgiving weekend and you too :)

Good luck with the new Ponto Power!
