Hotels with Kitchens in Suites, near House
« on: May 18, 2012, 06:09:48 pm »
We are thinking we will stay at Seton for the first few days after I'm out of the hospital, and then move to a residence type hotel for the next week, with a full kitchen in the suite, so that we can cook according to my dietary restrictions.  Any suggestions on where to stay?

I booked at a Residence Inn in Burbank, California.  It has a kitchen and a separate bedroom.  According to Mapquest, it is 13 minutes away from House.  But, we know how traffic goes.

Thanks, Lisa.  Will you be staying there the whole time, or will you spend a few days at Seton first?

We getting to LA on July 11th, so we will stay in Anaheim and go to Disneyland and other places.  We will move to the hotel in Burbank on July 15.  I have appointments on the 16th and 17th and then surgery on the 18th.  When I'm released, I will go back to the hotel.

One semi-positive thing about spending the money on travel and lodging is that I should be able to claim some of it on my taxes next year via itemized deductions of medical expenses.

Hadn't thought about the possibility of deducting the travel expenses.

I just stayed in a Hyatt in Redmond, WA that had a refrigerator, sink, cooktop, cabinets, dishes and tableware.

I didn't use any of it but Hyatt is worth checking out if you want kitchen facilities.

And it also had a complete complimentary breakfast every morning, not just one of those useless continental breakfasts.
