Surgery Finally Scheduled

My retrosigmoid surgery has been scheduled for November 2nd. It's strange to say this, but I'm excited. No excited that I'm about to have my head cut open, but excited to take the steps to get on with the rest of my life.

I felt the same way.  It's great to be on the other side of researching and questioning.  The decision is made and soon you will be a postie.  Please keep us updated.

Congratulations on attaining a surgery date. 

The AN experience comes in three parts: 1. diagnosis/researching/deciding on doctors/treatment type/date.  2. The treatment (radiation or surgery).  3. Recovery. 

You're now a third of the way to the 'finish line' and we'll be cheering you on until you're fully recovered!

Hi Knit!
I felt the same way-relieved to have made a decision, be determined to stay positive, have a good strong recoveryand then get on with my life ASAP in the new normal.
This week I am having the heebie jeebies and the what ifs, sporadically. My surgery is next week trans-lab at NYU.    Let us hang in there .

I, too, felt this way.  Couldn't wait for my surgery.  I decided I just wanted the damn thing out of my head so I could move on with my life.

I went into surgery very calm, very collected. 

My parents who were with me were more anxious about the whole situation than I was, but then again I got to sleep through everything while they had to sit on pins and needles in the waiting room for 7 1/2+ hours.

Keep the faith and place your trust and confidence in your doctors.
