Movement! 4-5 months post cross nerve graft process
« on: November 01, 2012, 09:48:15 am »
Hi All,
I have to post this exciting news.  After full paralysis for 3 years in my right cheek, I am finally showing signs that I will regain some sort of smile.  I had the 2 step cross face nerve graft procedures from Dr. Hadlock in Boston, with my last procedure in early June of this year.  I hope this helps give courage or hope to others because facial paralysis is a long hard road.

Hi, Jill ~

Congratulations on your successful surgery and much improved facial mobility.  I'm delighted that you've opted to share your good news with the AN community because your patience and determination are inspirational.  Please keep us informed as things progress.  Thanks.

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
