Clinical Trials

I have been exploring clinical trials involving the injection of cancer drugs into the tumor.  Has anyone had experience with this?  Also, one hospital replied to my email and told me I'd need to pay $500 just to apply.  Is this normal?

But Acoustic Neuroma's aren't cancer so why go through the side effects of such drugs? One wonders, would you really consider doing this?

1st AN surgery @ age 23, 16 hours
Loss of 7-10th nerves
mulitple "plastic" repairs to compensate for effects of 7th nerve loss
tumor regrowth, monitored for a few years then surgically removed @ age 38 (of my choice, not medically necessary yet)

Hello;
   I've never heard of this for those with a single AN.  Those with NF-2 have been tried on oral doses of anti-cancer meds; E.G. 'Avastin'.  It was found to shrink ANs and improve hearing in many but is expensive, has side effects in some, and one would need to stay on the med indefinitely.
   Researchers are gaining! I really look forward to prevention more excitedly than Tx.
