Going for MRI
« on: August 31, 2013, 01:39:51 pm »
Hi,
Can't believe I am into my 5th year already W&W.  My next MRI is on September 13th in Springfield, but I have to wait until the 26th to see Dr. Mason for the results.  Wish me luck.

Wish you all good results from your MRI.  :) Encouraging to someone in there first year of watch & wait.  I'm from Worcester County area, seeing Dr. McKenna at MEEI in Boston.  Mine was found in November 2012, 3 month no growth, then 7 months after that still no growth :). Best of Luck, here's to another year of watch & wait.

Lisa ~

Yes, we're always glad to get out of the MRI apparatus with it's noise and confinement.  Here's hoping you receive a 'clean' MRI report next week!  :)

Thanks for the well wishes, it's funny when I had my MRI's done in Boston, I would get the results the same day.  But in the western part of the state it takes weeks, we must still be on the pony express!! ::)

Hi Lisa - will keep looking for your post.  We, also, would get an immediate answer at Brigham/Dana Farber in Boston.  The almost three-hour drive for us into the city from the Cape can be difficult.

Keeping fingers crossed for you,
Sheryl
9th cranial nerve schwannoma - like an acoustic neuroma on another nerve. Have recently been told it could be acoustic neuroma. Only 7 mm of growth in 18 years. With no symptoms. Continuing W&W

Hi,

I know it is hard to wait, when I was getting my MRI in Boston, which is about 1.5 hour drive for me from Western Mass, I would receive the news the same day.  But now that I have decided to have it done in Western Mass, I have to wait to get the earliest appt with my ENT.  So I had the MRI done on the 13th and the earliest appt I could get was the 26th.  Also the cost for the MRI in Boston is around $3,000 (saw the bill once) and in Western Mass it is about half the cost, go figure???  Today is the 24th, only have two more days to wait.

Will let you know as soon as I know.

thanks
