Hi Linda:

My shaved spot was about 3" X 3" - some Drs. don't even shave that much.  My hair is short so I had it cut the day before surgery.  I had one trim up about a month post op and that was it, it was all evened out.

This photo brings back memories........before you know it you will be sending us pics of your incision!!

Here's how much the shaved from me.  My hair is only jaw-length, but the top still hangs down enough that it completely coveres the shaved area.

I have long hair but the docs only shaved a small area right where the inision was. I had to pull my hair back for you to even see the incision.

I had the translab approach also and they shaved all of my hair.  My hair was shoulder length, straight as nails hair before they shaved it.  It's been about 17months since my surgery and my hair is thicker and curlier than before, its just about the length I had it before.

I got a real short haircut right before surgery.  Then they shaved most of the left side of my head.

You know, now I'm really curious....Scottie and Stien...what approach did you have?  Geez, even Kathy and Katie look so far away from the back of the ear...my scar doesn't go more than 1" from the backside of my ear, it's very snug with it.  But yours don't look low enough for retrosig either....sorry, I didn't take photos.  But it basically follows the outline of my ear if you pressed it against my head.

They used the retrosigmoid approach on me.  No idea why it's so big, but it makes for a good story.  ;D

My orginal surgery's incision line was much "higher"/closer to the crown of my head basically and then there was the "burr" hole on the other side of the crown.....hair from my ear back from surgical side to just past the crown on the other and around the back shaved.....I went within two weeks and got a "buzz cut" so it would all grown in even.

Hi There,
Well I had long hair so they shaved a section of it and the rest of my hair covered the scar, you couldnt really even see the scar unless I showed it to you or had my hair up.
