Eye twitching
« on: January 18, 2018, 05:15:06 pm »
About a month post radiation my eye began to twitch.  It stopped at the 5.5 month mark.  Then I got an MRI which showed the tumor did not grow and appeared to be dying all good.  Then about the 7 month mark the eye twitch returned has anybody else experienced this and how did it turn out.?

My eye twitches when it's dry
1st AN surgery @ age 23, 16 hours
Loss of 7-10th nerves
mulitple "plastic" repairs to compensate for effects of 7th nerve loss
tumor regrowth, monitored for a few years then surgically removed @ age 38 (of my choice, not medically necessary yet)

I think the rule of thumb is up to two years after treatment you can have some unusual stuff happen. Sometimes due to swelling or other effects. Nothing to freak out about.

My doctor said eye twitching can just be nerves.  You're hyper-sensitive and aware of everything and can cause small motor twitches.  He said it might not have anything to do with the tumor at all.  Still comes and goes for me sometimes.
Vestibular Schwannoma 1.2 cm. Right side.
Middle fossa surgery at University of Iowa on May 9 2016.
Hearing saved.  Face is fine. Balance pretty darn good most days.
One year follow up MRI showed no tumor.
Five year follow up showed no tumor, so I'm in the clear.
