Surgeon consultations scheduled for next week at Kaiser Redwood City

I will meet with Dr. Victor Tse, Dr. Brian Kung, Dr. Allen Efron next week.

Does anyone here have experience with AN treatment at Kaiser Redwood City or specifically these surgeons?  Please provide ANY experience you've had.  Hugely appreciated.

First post.  I don't know if my details will be attached.

Mixed cystic and solid enhancing mass 2.3 x 1.6 x 1.3 cm in left ear.  If anyone has had a tumor resembling this, please provide your experience (any).

I also have *some* loss and tinnitus in my other (right) ear that started only about a month ago.  Could it be from pressure from the tumor on my left ear?

I have very high anxiety and fear over this.

I don't have experience with Kaiser Redwood City but I just had a surgery performed by Dr. Cueva and Dr. Mastrodimos in Kaiser San Diego. They removed my 2.5cm tumor (translab) in November and I'm very happy with the result. A ICU nurse told me the team perform AN surgery every week and have been there for 25 years, plus the SD facility is brand new.

I also heard great thing about Dr. Efron and Dr. Tse in this form but if you need a second opinion in the network I would strongly recommend you to contact with the team in San Diego.

Thank you Wayne! I'm glad to hear about any success stories, especially within the Kaiser network. 

I have one more consultation next week outside of the Kaiser network before I make any decisions.

I'll definitely consider contacting them, especially if it makes sense for me to have surgery.  I'd really like to go with CK if I can.

Hi,

I just have done microsurgery for my 12 mm AN by Dr. Efron at Redwood City Kaiser last week. If you would like to do CK, I guess Dr. Tse will care about you.

Anyway all three doctors will tell you about each option and treatment procedure. Dr. Efron and Dr. Kung are neuro/ENT surgeons who will do operation together if you go for microsurgery. I think they are a great team. My surgery went very well.

Regarding your symptoms, it is very likely your tinnitus and hearing loss is caused by your 23 mm AN. 23 mm is not a small size. Keep in mind that CK doesn't remove it but just prevent its growth.

I've decided to opt for Cyberknife at Kaiser Redwood City.  It's not scheduled yet, but hoping it can be done soon.

Did you have cyberknife at Kaiser RWC.  I am possibly scheduled next month at Kaiser South SF.
