I suspect that I’m not having problems with allergies like my doctor believes. He has not even touched looked at or tested any part of my body to come to this conclusion. I believe this clear, thin fluid leaking from my nose is due to a spontaneous CSF Leak. More than a year ago, my CPAP forcefully blew air into my mouth. I began choking, woke up thrashing, scratching at my mask and managed to get it off. I suspect that I got a small tear and began to leak after looking back at everything. I didn’t have major symptoms but did have drainage at the back of my throat, headaches, etc. I stopped using my CPAP for about a week or so. I talked myself into using it again and that something must have gone wrong but the sleep lab updated the settings and told me it was fixed. I am a paraplegic and ignore or tough through a great deal of health problems. But about 8 months ago I started getting symptoms of cardiac problems that would come and go. I got a stress test and everything came back fine and there wasn’t a heart problem. And we were just going to keep an eye on it. About 3 months ago, I developed a bad infection that hospitalized me. A cause wasn’t determined and I recovered after receiving magnesium, potassium and antibiotics and was released. My blood pressure got high 182/101, 134/112, 173/106 and then it would drop low within minutes 96/88 and back and forth… etc.,
I’m rambling, I’m sorry. Is it possible that a leak partially closed and then has given me meningitis and less symptoms of a leak. When I left one of my ER trips the doctor put me on a weeks worth of Doxycycline and I did about a week of feeling better and then I’ve circled back to feeling like crap. I believe my wife had a bug and reinfected me after that trip. She’s still got symptoms of the same stuff that I’ve got. I believe I’ve even passed this along to my aide and then I believe her daughter has got it as well. My doctor and the ER doctors are saying that our symptoms are allergies and that it’s constipation. A year of constipation!?!?
Any thoughts?
