4 weeks post ops retrosigmoid surgery
« on: October 15, 2026, 10:03:57 AM »
I am in 4 weeks post ops retrosigmoid surgery. First 2 weeks, I was able to make 7k steps. I thought I am rockstar. Totally totally wrong. I was on steroid dexAMethasone. Week 3 steroid done. 24 hrs after steroid course done, I have pulsating and radiating pain on the incision side. I am still having it but managing it with Thylenol. I couldnt make 10 steps outside. The moment I step outside, my incision side starts pulsating and pains a lot. Climbing stairs also have same pain but reduced impact. I know I am too early and need to give some time. But just want to know if anyone had same and how did you overcome. Any advise is greatly helpful. Thank You

I don't have any advice for you, harkethir, since I haven't had retrosigmoid surgery, but I want to thank you for posting your experience.  We need those who go through various treatments to share both the good and the bad.  It's important for us to be honest on these forums so that others may know what they might expect.

Please keep us updated.  And best wishes on your acoustic neuroma journey!

While watching and waiting, lost significant hearing. WRS now at 12% (down from 100%). Was fitted with CROS system on 3/7/22.  Stable MRI on 7/29/22

harkenthir,

I wish I could help you but I went with Radiation and never experience what you are facing.  I just wanted to wish you the best and let you know from the many people I have talked with over the years we all get through it.

Good Luck on your Journey.

I did have the surgery, but did not have that issue.  Please let us know how it goes, all information is useful information.
