for those of you that were in my shoes and someone tells you that you can't do the things you used to after AN surgery, here is my proof that you can!

I am speechless!  Way to go!  Just remember to protect both ears, loud music is harmful.  (I had my share of it at Woodstock and after)  You are truly amazing!  At five and a half weeks my head would have split open wide with that kind of sound!  Plus I would have never made it to the stage.................I would have been thrown out for appearing too drunk to walk.  All I can say is good for you and keep it up!

Hi Clifton,From one guitarist to another "ROCK ON" !
its been about 6 months since the surgery ,I have played for 17 years, and now since this AN crap I still cant change chords cleanly.
So today I am buying a drum kit [pearl].
I just love playing music and it must be a part of my life.
It just seems like my guitar skills are not coming back.
I  am extremely proud of you.
kicked my little 8cm buddy to the curb-c ya !

Hi, Clifton:

Lookin' good!

Seriously, we all admire your rapid recovery and return to music, which seems to be therapeutic, for you and others.  I almost wish I played an instrument!

As another AN patient who enjoyed a quick recovery and was highly motivated to 'get back', like you, I salute your determination and success.  You really are an inspiration.  Thanks - and may you only get even better with every passing month.

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

how totally cool.  Glad you're feeling well enough to play.

Thanks for sharing,

You guys really are like a 2nd family to me.  :'(

thank you for all the kind words for my unflattering photos! haha i really am not as overwieght as i appear haha.

Satman: ive been playing guitar for about 7 years, and i read before my operation that you were unable to play after surgery so that led me to try it a few days after i was able to get around the house and lift a guitar. After i played through the intro of an old song i had written i knew that i would be able to go back to normal.

I've been attempting drums for about 6 months as well and its awesome. definitly a nice change of pace.
