Debbi~
YES!  I STILL get the speech problems when I am really tired.  We moved back to the same city as my mom when I was about 4 years out, but when I still lived in Austin and would talk with my mom on the phone, she said she could always tell how tired I was by my speech!!  The more tired I am. the harder it is to make words come out right.  I bet yours will get all better though since you are getting movement back!!   ;)

Kay, did you ever try tongue twisters?  The therapist I saw for my face suggested them as a way to strenthen my speech.  I have been doing Betty's bitter batter and Peter Piper - cracks my husband up.  I think it may help, though.  At the very least, it keeps me amused.. :D

Kay, yes, send 'em over!  Any maybe you could CC Pooter, too - seems like he could use some laughs right now...

It's really boring in the hospital, isn't it, Brian?  I was so glad to have my laptop when I was in for my second stay.

Debbi, with bitter batter, but hoping for something better...

I see Brian is feeling a little better, huh?   :D

Debbi - I get the slurred, sleepy speech (that's almost like a tongue-twister) when I get tired too.  That's when James looks at me and says "time to go to bed".

heh..the hospital is boring, so thanks for the tongue twisters.  I especiaaly like the "debbi likes dunkin doghnuts down by the dock" and "lori leaves the line with slurring and sllepy speech, but we dunno if its laz"s wine" ones..  ;)

Trish, probably best that no one recognizes what you're saying if you're saying Brian's version!   :D

Hahaha...  Yeah, its best that nobody knows what you're TRYING to say so that they can't say ya did bad!  ;)

Trish:  I'm back in for a "probable infection".  Long story short (if ya want the long version you will have to catch up on my thread under "AN Community"), I started not feeling good, which led to fever, wihich led to a spinal tap which led me to be admitted again; I'm still here and likely won't get out despite me feeling better until Monday or so because of the holiday weekend but they aren't as concerned about meningitis as they were..  That's the shortened version.  :)

Lori sells seashells down by the sea shore.  Or something like that.  ;)

I think she was headed for the gararage and kept turning towards the seashore.  So, the story goes anyhow.  Perhaps it was Laz and the wine that did her in.   ???
