Had gamma knife
« on: June 13, 2008, 10:11:56 pm »
Hi
I had the GK this past Wednesday in Phillie.  I was amazed at the proffessionalism of all the dr's and nurses involved. I'm very tired, nauseau and have a headache that beats all but I'm glad its' over.  Now the wait begins. I'll have an MRI in 6 months. The med. cocktail was great, I don't remember much except when they took the frame off ,it bites.  I don't know when the nauseauness will stop or the headaches will stop but I'm hoping soon.  Haven't been able to eat much and lost 7 pounds in three days. That part is ok. Thank you for all your support and wisdoms of being there.
Claire

p.s. Going back home last week, prior to treatment, really helped me get grounded to see mom/dad family&friends. I found my Moggo again.

Wow, Claire!

Congratulations on the GK.  I didn't realize you were having treatment so soon.  Maybe it was on the AN Calendar and I just missed it (?); I haven't had a chance to check it recently.

Anyway, glad to hear it's over with.  I hope your side-effects pass swiftly and you feel better soon.

Here's to necrosis!

Congratulations on your GK.
I was doing the same thing when I was in the hospital for my AN they gave me sea sick pills to stop the nausea. You might want to try it .It is always nice to lose weight , but that is a  heck of a way to do it. I do hope you get to feeling better.

Congratulations, Claire!

I checked (3 times) and somehow, your CK never made the AN Treatment calendar.  I apologize for that oversight.

Nausea is a tough way to lose weight but I'm pleased that your CK went well.  I'm sure the nausea and headaches willl pass, soon. Overall, you seem to be O.K. and have a good attitude, which will help you, a lot.  Oh, and I'm gad you got your MoJo back.  :)

Hi Claire,

Congratulations on becoming a postie.

I hope the headache and nausea clear up soon; if not, you could call the doctor and see if they suggest taking something to help you get through it. Drink lots of water, too. It will all pass in a week or so. The main thing is that your AN has been zapped.

Take care,

Steve

I just tried to go to the AN calendar, using both Safari 1.3.2 and Netscape 7.2, and the page wouldn't load because it  couldn't be found. Does this calendar still exist?

Thanks,

Try this address:  http://my.calendars.net/AN_Treatments.  I accessed it with Netscape 7.2.  I hope this helps.

I just looked on the web site for Calendars.Net, and they said that on Macs, it helps to have the www at the front of the link.
I have changed my signature to include that, since it works that way for everyone.
So instead of http://my.calendars.net/AN_Treatments, it is now

http://www.my.calendars.net/AN_Treatments

See if  that helps.

Take care of yourself Claire.  Are you on steroids?  That can make for an interesting week for you.  I hope you feel better soon.  I only had a headache right after I got home and some of the meds were wearing off.  But I took some pills, had the steroids, passed out in bed for the rest of the day, and then didn't really have a headache after that.  Some other weirdness going on, but no headache.  And thankfully, I didn't have the nausea.  I am sorry you are troubled with that.

I hope you feel better soon.

Tumbleweed -

when you open the calendar, you will be in June.  Find "Jul" above the June calendar and click on it.  Once the July calendar is opened, click on the date you want to create an entry for.  A new window will open.

In the new window, type in the "calendar text" box - maybe something like CK Tumbleweed.  Select "category" - AN treatment.   Go to "color select" and select a color if you want - this is optional, but decorative  ;)  Then click on "submit".

That's about it.
