My dog ate my Elastigirl goggles
« on: September 25, 2008, 10:31:41 am »
My dog just ate my $80 PanOptx moisture chamber goggles. What a bummer. I thought she was crunching on her Nylabone.

Sara-

Had to laugh when I read your headline.  Our dog (a rescue I might add) has easily chewed up several thousand dollars worth of things - brand new prescription glasses, digital camera, dental mouth guard, sunglasses, countless remotes (you'd think we'd learn), picture frames - the list goes on and on.  She has a bit of an anxiety disorder...  Guess the message here is that I'd better keep my onion goggles away from the dog...

Have you tried bitter apple spray, by the way?  It has worked somewhat on things like candles and picture frames which our dog usually likes to chew.

Debbi -

We tried that bitter apple stuff when my golden went through her chewing stage.  Wouldn't you know - she LIKED it???

She outgrew the stage, but now our shepherd mix pound puppy has taken over that job.  She seems to have a thing for eating paper.

Sara -

I guess you'll have to be a different superhero now... AN Girl!!

When Daisy was just a puppy we tried the bitter apple spray to keep her from chewing on her crate liner. She licked it off! But she did stop chewing on her crate liner. She's usually pretty good about just chewing on her toys, and I have no idea how she managed to find the goggles. I was very careful with them simply because they were so expensive.

It's a good thing I don't need them as much anymore.

Lori -- I can be HFS (hemifacial spasm) Girl but the AN Girl title is wide open. Takers?

Kay, I think that's a great costume idea...

I can see it now...  pink onion goggles.... a tiara made out of those single use packets of eye drops... a holster with a bottle of dishwashing detergent on one side, and a toothbrush on the other (for us BAHA folks).  Instead of silver bullets, you can carry hearing aid batteries and gold eye weights.  You can have a cape as long as it's a short one - poor balance and a long cape might be a dangerous mix.  You can run around yelling "What?  Did you say something?".

Why do I have a feeling this thread is about to be relocated?   :D

Hmm, just what I was thinking...
8 mm left AN June 2007,  CK at Stanford Sept 2007.
Hearing lasted a while, but left side is deaf now.
Right side is weak too. Life is quiet.
