Sound Induced Vertigo/Nausea
« on: October 25, 2008, 09:04:31 am »
I went for anual hearing exam, during part of this exam a deep resonating sound came through and I told the tech I didn't feel well because of it.  It made me nauseous and felt like I was going to fall off my chair.  He couldn't explain this and found it unusual.  I saw my ENT doc after this exam which shows more hearing loss in the high end but not significant ?.  I'm not the doc but ANY hearing loss at this stage is significant to me....sigh.  Anyway, I forgot, what's new, to ask about the sound induced vertigo.  I wonder if the tech even mentioned this in his report?  Oh well.

Wondered if anyone has ever experienced this phenomena?

Another question I have does anyone else have bouncing vision increase while straining, such as lifting too many bags of food or other heavy items?  I have begun to notice this little disturbance.

Hi,

I don't know if I have ever related my vertigo with any sound. I will try to see if there is sometimes a connection. I DO have the second question problem. The bouncing vision really gives me dizziness and nausea. I find various activities do it and it isn't always consistent. Perhaps I am more tired than others. It sure is annoying.

To first question ...I have never had sound induced nausea or vertigo during a test but have
gotten dizzy and nauseated when in a noisy situation ... like pep rally at school , church during
singing etc...

Second question ....yes...straining makes my vision bounce more and also being tired makes
it more bouncy

After my last hearing test, I had horrible pressure and pain in my ear.  So I haven't had another one.  Not vertigo though.
