Winking?
« on: January 05, 2009, 05:49:34 pm »
Okay, this seems frivolous, but my "wink" is gone.  I can judge how much "strength" is back on that side because I used to be able to wink either eye, but I cannot with my AN side eye now.  I think with some exercise, it may be able to gain enough strength to wink again.  SO, what are some exercises that would be beneficial for winking?  I can ALMOST do it, but not quite there yet..  Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks!

Hi Brian,
I have no advice but I'm laughing because my wink is pretty bad as well. I never realized how much I winked until now! Hope yours improves; I'm probably too old to be winking anyway.   ;)

;)    ;)    ;)  OK...so obviously I can't help you here since I can't wink but I like to look at it that I am an INCREDIBLE winker with my other eye now - heck, that right eye doesn't EVER blink in the wink!!   ;)    ;)    ;)    ;)

Yeah, and isn't it the weirdest thing to have a eye stay open when you sneeze?

Thanks for the exercise tips jazzfunkanne.  I'll try them and see if I get improvement.

Like I said, I know it's frivolous, but it's one of my guages of improvement.  Even after 7 months, I'm still seeing SLOW progress.  It's really annoying when you sneeze and that eye stays open.

Marci, I don't wink often but my first instinct is to wink with that eye.  So, if I wanna be flirty with Jenni then it comes off as comical instead.  I'm not a winker per se but I've been known to be flirty here and there.  :)

Regards,

Brian

Perhaps we can have a winking contest in Chicago at the conference?  Anyone else game?  Sounds more tame then stand-up paddleboarding...

I'm just glad we're not having a knitting contest, because Steve would win that hands down.  ;)

I'm still working on the blanket I started knitting for my son before he was born. He's 20 now and it's still not finished.   :-*  I'm better off winking...

Seriously, Steve??   :o

Believe me when I say you could knock me down with a feather if this is true.

Does this mean I can expect my hat at the symposium?  I was one of the first you promised one to, you know.

A green one with a special pouch for my BAHA, as I recall.

Steve, both my daughters are addicted to making hats and scarves on Knifty Knitter looms. They are way faster than needles.

Santa even dropped off some larger looms this Christmas for afghans, baby blankets, etc.
