Mini Victory!
« on: January 10, 2009, 07:12:01 pm »
I just had to share my mini victory today.  I bowled for the first time since surgery!  I bowled a whopping 80 and 91!  I could definitely tell my balance has been affected, but I managed to scrape through two games!  My daughter and I had our annual bowling trip with our group, so I couldn't NOT take her.  Anyhow, it was fun and I had to share.  Yea me!  :)

Regards,
Brian

Based on the last time I went bowling, I thought 91 was a pretty good score.  :-\

Nice going, Brian. If you put your mind to it, I bet you could break 100.  ;)

Brian -
Congratulations on bowling again!  I'm such a spaz I practically used to throw myself down the alley with the ball -- I can't even imagine what would happen now :D :D :D  Congratulations on such a great and fun milestone!

I am sticking with Wii bowling - I can't hurt anyone that way!  Of course, my virtual ball still seems to find the gutter ...

Quite a victory, Brian!  Way to go!  I'm quite confident that if I tried it, the ball and I would go flying down the alley...

I'm with Steve...anything over 100 was pretty great for me!   ;)   My husband, when he bowls, which isn't often anymore, is pretty good.  I'm terrible and I don't bowl anymore.  It hurts my fingers.

Yay, Pooter!

Alright Brian!  Way to go!

Your score might not have sounded too high to you, but I can assure you, if you were playing against me - you would have won, hands down!

I haven't been bowling in a long time, but I seem to recall the most fun part was the beer and nachos.   :D

Hey, Brian:

Congratulations on your mini-victory over the bowling ball!  :D  Seriously - you did good! I can't bowl to save my life so I gave it up years ago, but kudos to you for not only trying, but succeeding.  Good job!  :)

Debbi~
Have you ever "PURPOSELY" let go of the ball in Wii bowling on the BACKswing??  Watch the people - it is hilarious.  The gilries LOVE to do this...of course, the reason we know to do this is because if happens in real life!!  At Addi's b-day bowling party, one of the girls bowled across the lane next tous into their FAR gutter!

I taught bowling in college...no, I am not very good, but as a PE major, you have to teach 4 PE classes that they offer.  It was pretty fun!

Note to self:  Do not challenge Kay to a staring contest or a bowling match....  Brian and Jim, however...probably okay for the bowling part.  Hey, I could beat them at a staring contest too!

Very cool, Brian  8)

I firmly believe that all victories - mini or not - should be celebrated.

So, I hope you had the nachos and beer Lori mentioned  :D

Thanks everyone for sharing in my mini-victory with me!  As I said, I could definitely tell that my balance was affected but as time went on I was able to compensate for it more.  At least the AN didn't stop me from trying!  There was a time not too long ago that it would have.

Thanks for sharing my day!
