Woo-hoo I sneezed today
« on: February 02, 2009, 10:12:23 pm »
. . . and my eye closed! Double sneeze, double close.

Of course my eyelid weight is likely helping out, but last time I had sneezing fits my left eye was still staying open. That's a freaky thing, by the way.

At any rate, it's another baby step to celebrate.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Congratulations, Saralynn.
That's great.  As you said, it's another baby step to being back to normal.......and that's where God comes in at.  We pray to Him, and He is with us at all times!
I haven't read up on two many posts for awhile, but wanted to say HI, and that's great news.
Don't give up......take one day at a time, and it will happen!  I'm 6 months post op, and try to stop by when I can.  I sometimes feel the progress is kinda slow at the beginning........but continues to come along fine.
Do you like in warm weather right now?  My doctor told me to go outside and walk for 30 minutes a day about 3 weeks post op.  That made me so much stronger, I can't begin to explain how much it helped.  If you live in colder weather......maybe you might have a treadmill...(be sure to hang on).
I do the treadmill now......but I love the warm weather.
God bless you and your family.
Love,
Lacey

Sara:

Congratulations on another 'small victory'.  They're sometimes the best kind because they keep your spirits up and help you to keep moving forward.  May you have many more!  :)

K:  I love it !  Although, actually, I have to take a hearing & vision test this Friday for my driver's license renewal - do you think I should tell them I can keep 1 eye open when I sneeze ? !

I realized today that this is my eight-month post-op milestone. At three months I had tiny movement by my nose, at seven months tiny movement in my cheek, and at eight months tiny movement in my eyelid. Slow but steady. Can't wait to see what is next.

I guess I never paid attention to what my eye was doing when I sneezed - which I usually do quite a bit anyway.  But of course ever since I read this thread, I haven't sneezed once!  That is - until just now - and guess what?  My eye does stay open.  How about that?  You learn something every day.

Maybe we can be on David Letterman when he does his Stupid Human Tricks segment....  is that show still on?  I haven't stayed up that late in a long time.   ???

I had not thought about this in all this time - just like Lori, I had to think about it now after reading this.  I don't have a weight in currently & guess what?  It does stay OPEN!   ;D

When I sneeze (which is loud) I cover my eye cause it stays open. It feels weird and uncomfortable.
