My understanding is that TYPICALLY an AN surgery is fairly blood-less as far as surgery goes.  I don't recall taking iron ever; before, during or after the surgery.  Perhaps they found some sort of iron deficiency during pre-op tests?

I'm stumped..

Perhaps it is totally unrelated? Putting this as delicately as possible, before I went into menopause, I had to take an iron supplement from time to time due to typical female deficiencies. I'd ask about it just to ease your questions. Maybe some stress due to the AN issues depleted you?

I wasn't given iron post op; not sure it's related to AN surgery at all.  As Brian said, usually AN surgery isn't a bloody surgery.  BAHA surgery can be - the scalp is pretty vascular - but I wasn't given iron for that either.

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways
