We're off to see the wizards...
« on: April 07, 2009, 09:07:27 pm »
...the wonderful wizards of AN surgery!  Tomorrow's my day, and I'm ready for it.

We spent the better part of today over at House, first meeting with three of the doctors who will be there tomorrow and also having several tests.  We reviewed the approach that will be used, middle fossa, and agreed that they would do everything possible to preserve hearing on that side.  Dr Schwartz thought I was making the wrong decision on that, but--luckily--Dr Brackmann totally agreed with me that it's worth trying to save whatever hearing is left.  So middle fossa with hearing preservation if at all possible it is.

I'm so glad I found this forum.  What a source of information, comfort, and understanding.

Good luck to the others who are having surgery tomorrow or soon afterwards.

I'll see you on the other side...
