Houston luncheon anyone?
« on: June 19, 2009, 09:39:52 pm »
Who in the Houston area is up for a get together lunch?  We're thinking Logan's on 290 near Hollister.

I've been talking to a nice lady who's SIL was just diagnosed and is interested in meeting other ANers for reassurance and advice.

Anyone game?  I am. Who else?

Regards,

Brian

I'm in if I'm not traveling.

I believe that's the same nice lady that I've been communicating with via email. Do we have a suggested date/time?

Hey Phyl, just use the ANA Moderator Jet and swing through the state picking people up.  :)

Patrick, no suggested day yet..  Any opinions?  We're talking about a place near my work, so I could swing by for lunch any time during the week.  You guys come up with suggested days that work for you.

I'm glad she's not communicating with just me.  It's important to get a well-rounded view of things.  It'd be nice if we could all get together again.

Thoughts?

Thursdays and Fridays are the only days I can make the trip, the other days are my therapy and kid days!  We are getting a Logans two miles from me and I am excited!  I like checking out the area where you are though Brian because I lived there for several years and it is fun to see how much it has changed!

I was on the road for 11 days during that time, so if they met then I missed it...darn it!  Hope they can do it again now that I am back.  Great people to hang out with!

Anyone still in touch with Gloria?  I'm still interested in getting a group from Houston together.  We haven't done it yet.

Thoughts?

Hi Brenda and Brian,

I didn't hear anything back from Gloria after the initial contact.  Don't know what they found out.

Btw, heard from G tonight.  They're in Galveston.  Apparently, the diagnosed son is having surgery THIS WEDNEDAY..  I don't have anymore details than that.  She said she would fill me in once they return from the coast.

They contacted House for a phone consult and was basically told the same thing as the first doc here.  So, son elected to have surgery sooner rather than later.

I guess meeting up with them will have to wait.  I'll get the scoop and then we'll have to play the meet-up by ear.

Brian, put your friend on the AN treatment calendar if you'd like (and provide some details... I can't remember the specifics).

And... are any of you Texas people ever in Corpus Christi? I have to go down there this week and check on my aunt, who is ill.
Then HOPEFULLY 5 weeks from today we'll be in San Antonio watching my son graduate from basic military training, USAF!

Too bad all the cities in Texas are so dang far from each other!
I can't wait to eat BBQ and Tex Mex.
