Cheryl R's recovery
« on: July 01, 2009, 05:37:16 pm »
Not quite sure where to post this since Cheryl's surgery was non-AN related today.

Just had an email from her daughter and Cheryl is in recovery.  The surgery (hysterectomy) itself went fine, but they will have to wait for a later pathology report.

Prayers continue for her uneventful recovery.

Thanks, Clarice! I had seen that Cheryl was having a procedure, then it was cancelled or postponed, and I couldn't remember where I had read this. I just posted 'behind her' on the book club thread and was just telling her I needed to go find out what was up with her, and here it is. If you're in contact, let her know we're praying for her and pulling for her.

I insist that Cheryl make it to Chicago in August, so she better get well and be fine.  ;)

I kept hoping I would have another update from Cheryl's daughter this morning, but nothing.  I am going on the assumption no news is good news and will let you know if I hear anything more.

Cheryl thought they might keep her until Friday morning since her surgery was Wednesday afternoon, but I have not heard whether that is true or not.  Hopefully Cheryl will jump in here herself when she gets home.

Clarice ~

Thanks so much for being the messenger for Cheryl, who we all care about.  I trust she'll be fine.  That lady is intrepid and resilient.  :)

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

And I am home!       I am absolutely amazed that a vag hyst could go so well.           I had pain of maybe a 6 when woke up and had a couple morphine and that was about it.    I was given an IV Toradol  x3 and that was my whole pain med as had very little.     I had told about my nausea post op so was given a nausea med and also a one time dose of steroid which he said helps too.    It helped but also helped me not sleep much!         I had some nausea when awoke but no emesis and no nausea by time got to room and none later.      Called down for supper even.      Ate breakfast but wasn't real hungry for lunch so only ate a bit.    I was hoping for a private room and it was really was a nice one.              I was up on my own then and pretty self sufficient.    I was very tired today so off to bed first thing when got home for a decent nap.             A bit sore but not bad and will take a pain med later.           BP was up some but dr wasn't shook over it.                 The past path reports have been ok when did the D&Cs so should be here too.                        I appreciate everyones prayers and good thoughts.            Means alot.  I also hope don't go and have a later pain problem like  Capt Deb did.                                      I missed my computer and so glad to be back to it.
The dr knew about Aug and how had to be fine by then so should be.       Clarice had wanted to know how it went so made sure she was on my daughters list and was good to have someone from here.
