Jen,

Best of luck.  Here's hoping that your MRI is clear.  I know you are  anxious, because you've had a previous regrowth.  I agree, keep breathing and like Debbi, I find chocolate helps almost any nail biting situation. Keep us posted.

Jennifer .....

As you know, I can completely identify with your anxiety over the dreaded MRI this week.  This normal reaction is probably something we will live with the rest of our lives.

I am determined, however, not to let the acoustic neuroma control my life.  Yes, the fear is always there and the deafness is always there, but how I react to it is what I am working hard to change.  For some reason the phrase "make lemonade out of lemons" keeps coming to my mind.  I am constantly searching for ways to turn all of these events into positives.

Many, many prayers for another clean MRI for you and a lessening of your fear of another regrowth.

Jennifer~

I completely understand your feelings and I can honestly say that the fears do get less & less as the years go on...but unforunately don't go away COMPLETELY.

This is certainly NOT something to let dominate your life - there is SO MUCH more to life and a LOT of living to do!!   ;D

Did I see you at Dr. Roland's office??  :) How did the MRI go? You're right-I liked him very much!  He thinks I should have translab surgery-but he also thinks I should wait 6 months and do another MRI first.  Hard decisions...

Hi Lorbis,
I'm not sure if we crossed paths.  I left his office at 3:15.  He's an amazing doctor!  I would trust what he says.  Why does he think you should wait 6 months?  I waited approx. a year (my own doing) and he finally told me that I should have it done and I listened.  What size is your tumor?

Mine is 1.5 cm.  He said if I have translab surgery I'll lose the hearing that I have.  There is no brain stem involvement so he said to do another MRI in six months to see if it's actually growing.  He thinks it is but he said I have time to wait. It gives me time I guess.
