AN-er's in Hampton Roads, VA
« on: July 09, 2011, 07:42:09 pm »
SkipG and I were talking about trying to get an informal gathering together of any members in the Hampton Roads, VA area.

Those Yankees in Bawston have their apple dumplin's - let's show 'em how it's done with.....crab cakes?  Krispy Kreme donuts?  A bottle of sunscreen and some beach chairs?   ;D

Let me know if you're in the area and we'll figure out a central meeting place and see what we can set up!

Lori
Right 3cm AN diagnosed 1/2007.  Translab resection 2/20/07 by Dr. David Kaylie and Dr. Karl Hampf at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.  R side deafness, facial nerve paralysis.  Tarsorraphy and tear duct cauterization 5/2007.  BAHA implant 11/8/07. 7-12 nerve jump 9/26/08.

I am occasionally in the HR area. Let me know when and where and I will try to come down.

As to the food, this seems like it should be ideal: softshell scrabs between two Krispy Kreme glazed, with RC cola and moon pies on the side.

Here I am trying to eat healthy and you guys are going to clog my arteries. To say nothing of a blood pressure spike. Looking forward to getting together. By my guess and after talking to two AN neurosurgeons there should be over one hundred AN people in the Hampton Roads area. With our total pop of approx 1.5 million, statistics would say about 75 -120 per this population (5-8 per 100,000). Would love to meet Tod the Appalachian Trail Man. The only portion I did was up to Mt. Rodgers from Grayson Highlands Campground. (Highest peak in Virginia)

There's always an apple dumplin' on reserve for ya, Lori! (and all/all of you!)... our next brunch is October.  Hoping you all have a VERY successful get-to-gethah' and me thinks it needs to be crabcakes on a beach.

Wish we could all be together.   The closest is the Forum and I love the Forum.   How far is Hampton Beach from DC?   I've never been there.  My daughter lives in Charlottesville.  Is it far from Charlottesville?

Wish we could all be together.

Rumor has it the JKL trio has plans for a big meet up in 2013.  Will probably interfere with the shindig sponsored by HEI, but what the heck  ;D

Sometimes you have to go where your heart takes you.

Mei Mei,  Virginia Beach (Hampton Roads area) is about 3 1/2 hours from Charlottesville - about 4 hours from DC.

I didn't forget about organizing a get-together.  I've been dealing with a case of bronchitis that doesn't seem to want to go away and with school starting, things have been a little crazy around here.

Jan, the "JKL Symposium" may not be as informative, but I'll bet it will be a whole lotta fun!   >:D

Oh my...It was a typo.   I've been without internet for over a week now so I dash to Barnes and Noble and catch up in a hurry coz I have to get back to the house.   I meant to say what is JKL Symposium?

Sincerely,
