Having my hair done (color and all) was the best medicine for my state of mind.  Almost as good as buying shoes.  Wait, maybe that's next!! ;D

Hi Jan, Marci and Ann Marie,
I'm not a shoe nut but I am excited about the prospect of coloring my hair.  I started going gray very early -- I was only  18 when I noticed my first gray hairs, so as you can imagine, I have quite a lot if them, unfortunately most in the front of my hairline and temples, the sides and back are almost all brown with just a little gray.  I've been painting  the front of my head with a temporary root touch up I found in a hair accessory store.  It covers a lot of gray but makes my hair feel a little dirty.  I'm counting the days!

Oh great - now I guess we have to be happy and healthy with grey hair!   :'(

Just out of curiosity, what do Europeans use to color their hair?  Maybe they don't grey hair?   ???

Lori

Hair dye without PPD. Natural colour and no health issues.
(Ask your rich friends, very exclusive.)

P.S. Be sure to include Sweden on your European tour.

Interesting Mikado, I was a hairstylist for 15 yrs. I didn't really colour my hair but breathed in the fumes 30 + hours a week for 15 years hmmmmmmm gets ya thinking.
Michelle  ???

Check out hair dye allergies on the Internet.

P.S. My hairdresser Jen, contacted the reps. of all her suppliers to inquire about PPD. To this date, she has had no response.
Somethin' fishy goin' on here!

Apparently, (re: owner of a local heath food/product establishment), a Company in USA is selling Henna STIPULATING ppd free.
Sorry, don't remember name of Company.

More than willing to contact her on your behalf. Let me know,

HI all,
Safe or not  I'm having my hair colored tomorrow.   It has been established here hair dye is very bad for you, but I can't stand painting the roots every day with the temporary root touch up stuff and henna won't cover my gray -- there's just too much of it.

Wendy-- looking forward to having all brown hari again!

Hey, count me in!

The BT thing scared me into no changes, but I've done a year plus, with the gray and dark and it's not workin' for me.

Going back to blonde (decades, suits my skin colour).  Bleached, not coloured. Can imagine what you must be thinking, but no, it is not peroxide or Jayne Mansfield. Very soft shade and adds texture.

Looking forward to the next topic, bring it on. Keep it going, deserves it's own forum.

I have only one spot of gray. Unfortunately it is in the front. My mom says it is a birthmark (she has one too). Fortunately I just got a really cute new haircut with bangs forward instead of pulled back, and the gray is hidden. I am just going to ignore it for a while.

Jeez, summa you wenches are high mainenaince!  I was blessed with ebony hair with platinum highlights.  Lots and lots of platinum highlights!  Sometimes my stylist cuts it a little too short and my scar has a tendency to pop out for a few days till it grows in!

I tried to color my hair once and all I got was......orange!

Hi all,
I am a young-looking for my age solid brunette again!!  My gray hair is gone, banished for another month or so.  It's amazing how getting rid of you gray hair can give you such a psycological  boost!

K - I'll be partners with you any time!

My 16 year old son has a halo nevus, which is a circular spot where there is no pigmentation.  Since it is on the side of his head, he has a circular spot - about 1 inch diameter - with white hair on his full head of almost black.  Actually it looks really cool 8)  Does this sound the same as yours?  It has to be a circle to be a halo nevus...  Interesting..
