Non AN Related Treatment Good Thoughts Please
« on: January 01, 2009, 07:29:41 pm »
a couple weeks ago I had my annual maogram... didn't give it much thought... first report said possible
calcium deposits in right side ...second mamogram with different angles says cancer... tomorrow lumpectomy
and biopsy to see what is up... for now I am tabling headache appointments ... have to conserve dollars in
health savings account to fight this if it comes back bad ... with our insurance so screwy and not paying much
of anything have to watch all the pennies in there... and we just rolled over to zero in our deductable and out
of pocket  >:( ...not how I wanted to start my New Year ...

Please send good thoughts ... I need them...I think I am about out of steam to deal with anything else..

Soundy -

sorry to hear this.

As Marci said, you seem to be such a strong person - you've been through so much in your life - you can handle this too.

Add me to the list of people thinking of, and praying for, you.

Good luck and please let us know how things turn out.

I was sorry to learn of this latest medical mountain you may have to climb.  I hope and will pray that this comes to nothing.  You deserve a break!

Still no word ...should know something Thursday or Friday...

Thanks for thoughts prayers and well wishes... I am almost emotionally drained and can use all the good
thoughts I can get ... best thing about this place is the feeling I am not alone that I sometimes get ...
even though this is not AN related it gave me a safe place to be scared and reach out ... I try not to
freak out in front of my family ... they think I am indestructible and can't let them down...which may be
some of my problem...

Will keep you all post when I learn something ...hoping it is nothing so I can get on with my headache fight ...
can't do both at same time ...

On a happier note ... tomorrow I will be getting a new grandbaby... not due until the 16 and they have been
holding her birth off for almost 2 months... DILs BP is up so they stuck her in hospital this afternoon and will
induce her in the morning ... this is their first...

new daddy has to have surgery on his shoulder the next day and isn't happy about that... it has been canceled twice
because DIL went into hospital in November and then because he had the flu... they told him he had to go on
and get it done or they could drop the case if he cancelled again...

don't know your religious affiliation nor is it any of my business but one thought that always helps me to cope is remembering that God never gives us more than we can handle and he must think that you are ONE STRONG LADY. I sometimes want to scream out........OKAY, THAT's EnoUGH! Your inner strength and the love of your family will see you through this. Congrats on the new baby...how exciting. I pray for the best but if it is cancer do know that the cure rate is very good when caught early. Try to think positive and hopefully it will be good news.

Soundy,

Hope the biopsy shows nothing. You have too much to deal with!

Hi Soundy,

I have lots of calcifications, too. A technician once described me as having "busy breasts." I have gone through many repeat mammograms, ultrasounds, and now yearly MRIs since my mother was treated for breast cancer two years ago. I'm due for the whole rigmarole again in February. My husband works for a medical group, and they have digital mammography now.

I pray that the iffy spot is just some busy calcifications, but I also understand how scary this all is. Take extra special care of yourself.
