Jenni and Brian-

I echo Wendy - so sorry that you're back in the hospital, Brian, but also know it is the right place to be now.  This is so creepily familiar to me, unfortunately.  I will hope that your outcome with the infection turns out as well as mine did (hopefully minus the PICC line).

I really know how discouraging this is, but hang in there.

I know the hospital is probably not the romantic getaway that you were both looking for this weekend, but it is the best place to be right now.

Brian, prayers continue to come your way.  Jenni, take care of youself, too.

Greetings from the hospital!!  Its hard to type one-handed (with the IV being at the crook my arm and being tempermental if i twich my nose wrong) but we'll give it a shot.  I see Jenni has kept you well informed thus far.  I feel MUCH better today.  Not sure if its the lack of meds (diomox) or increase of meds (antibitics and steroids).  My temp was elevated last night but not all day that I expected.

I talked to the infectious disease doctor and no culture yet.  More and more it looks like a reaction to the diomox.  They will probably do another tap  tommow (not as bad as I thought) to be sure the infection is better.  I may even get home without a PICC line (no offense debbi ;) )!!  I will know more on that later.

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.

Hey Guys~
Well, I have to agree with Debbi that the hospital is not where you WANT to be (not exactly Cancun...) but hopefully it will provide the answers to get there (OR SOMEWHERE for a romantic get away) sooner!!

Brian~
I know it is tempting...but you DO NOT want to be part of our exclusive PICC Club...I repeat, DO NOT!!   ;)

Definitely praying for you both!

Kay's right, Brian - as glamorous and exotic as the PICC lines appear to be, I don't recommend it ... at all!  Although, if you end up with one, maybe we can start a PICC line camoflauge competition...   hhhmmm...

Debbi - piccless and praying you remain piccless too.

I notice my little patient got on earlier this morning as soon as I left the hospital (went to get the kids and spend a little time with them today). I was going to update you all, but it sounds as if he has already done so. I noticed he also clarified "Diomoxx" so I didn't mess it up and say "Vioxx" like I had with some of his friends yesterday. ;) He was not happy to hear that I made that mistake. LOL We will update when we know more.
Love,
Jenni

Awww!! I was *SO* looking forward to being in that exclusive club tho!  I don't know what I will do with myself if I can't be part of the PICC line club!  I guess I'll feel included because of the double-bonnet club.  :)

I misspoke about "vioxx" a little bit.  It's a pain med that was taken off the market because of liver problems, Jenni.  Not exactly what I had remembered, but equally as bad..  I was thinking Vioxx was more along the lines of Cialis or something like that.  ;)

So far, so good.  I ate and took a short nap while Jenni and the kids were gone.  A side effect of one of the meds I'm on is an increased appetite which bodes me well having lost 25 lbs.  I actually went downstairs and got breakfast, came back and ordered more, then ordered and ate all of lunch.  For a person who normally doesn't eat breakfast and lately has only eaten 1 primary meal a day, that's progress.  I'll probably get released tomorrow, but they havent said officially yet.

Thanks for all the welll wishes and concernes.  They really do help!

Brian

So glad to hear you're feeling better Brian!!  I know the hospital sucks, but the food must be good at least!  AND, it's much better that your problems are due to an allergic reaction than to an infection.  I know you're not totally in the clear yet, but all seems to be boding well at this point.

Take Care,

Pooter -

typing posts with one arm attached to an IV!  Either you are addicted to this forum, or you just plain miss us  :D

Glad to hear you are feeling better - and that you are eating.  The nap doesn't sound too bad either  ;)

I don't think you really want to be part of the PICC line club, but maybe Debbi could send you one of her "lemons" just so you don't feel left out   ;D

Keep getting better!

And, I think I may have a few supplies lurking about also - I'll box them up straight away!  Sorry, no lemons, but sounds like Kay's got you covered with the bag-o-vanco  :D  Just in case...

Seriously, glad that you might get "sprung" tomorrow, Brian!  And, really glad that it looks like you won't get to join the picc line club!  That would be a wonderful way to celebrate 4th of July - I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Debbi, glad the picc club is staying so small...

Kaybo -

what is it with you and Lori and medical stuff and garages?  :D LOL

Sounds like you and Debbi are trying to turn Pooter into a pseudo-PICC patient  :)

Very nice of you guys to make him feel like one of your "club".
