One of the most troublesome issues that many acoustic neuroma patients deal with both pre- and post-treatment is tinnitus. Treatment options are limited and relief can be difficult to achieve.

With over 50 million people in the US alone experiencing some form of tinnitus, why aren't there more treatment options? Part of the problem is that there hasn't been a way to objectively measure tinnitus. It is difficult to treat something that can't be measured. This article brings us good news on that front. Researchers in Australia have had success using a non-invasive brain imaging technique to measure the presence and severity of tinnitus. Thankful for all efforts and progress in this arena!
