The ANA’s in-person Patient Education Events are one of the most valuable and engaging opportunities available to acoustic neuroma patients.
While our webinars and virtual support groups are incredible for keeping patients connected and informed, there’s something uniquely powerful about gathering in person. In 2023, we re-introduced our in-person Patient Education Events, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Time and again, patients have told us how worthwhile it was to spend a Saturday learning, connecting, and gaining clarity about their condition and treatment options.
“It’s amazing to spend a day with doctors and fellow patients, learning about all the key issues. It opened my eyes and made me feel more confident in my decisions.”
An ANA Patient Education Event offers a full day of learning, led by top acoustic neuroma specialists.
You’ll hear about treatment options, receive clear explanations of different procedures, learn what to expect during recovery, and gain a better understanding of what your acoustic neuroma journey could look like. Best of all, you’ll be together with fellow patients who truly understand what you’re going through— no matter where you are in your journey.
“Where else could you sit down to lunch with the doctor who might perform your surgery?”
You’ll also have direct access to experts in surgery, radiation, hearing, balance, and facial issues.
Beyond the presentations, these events also provide opportunities to ask questions, as well as engage with specialists during breaks and lunch. Imagine being able to have your own personal questions answered by top experts in a warm, supportive environment.
“This event was extraordinarily thorough. I wish I had known about this type of event when I was diagnosed in 2021.”
An acoustic neuroma diagnosis can feel overwhelming, especially with all the choices and challenges involved. These events are designed to give you the knowledge and support you need to make confident, informed decisions about your care.
One of the most important aspects of these events is the connection between patients. It’s rare to meet someone who truly understands what it’s like to live with an acoustic neuroma. These events provide that special opportunity to share experiences, build connections, and expand your support network.
“This event helped me assimilate all the info I have read and studied. I finally got a big picture, and it will make it easier to choose my path.”
Our most recent event, held in partnership with the Pacific Neuroscience Institute, was a resounding success. Patients were excited about the presentations, explored new treatment options, and had meaningful one-on-one conversations with experts.
With two Patient Education Events planned for 2025, we hope you’ll take a look at the schedule and consider joining us. Your fellow patients will tell you—it’s well worth the travel, and absolutely worth your Saturday.
