TOPIC:
Lip Reading
Presented by Sherry Shayne
Sherry Shayne is a retired speech and language pathologist and audiologist. She will describe how hearing loss impacts how we hear and what we hear. She will also review how we speak - specifically consonants and vowels – and why some words are more difficult to "hear." These are the first steps in learning how to lip read. She will also provide some tips to help you cope in different situations.
Family members, caregivers, friends, and interested persons are welcome to attend. Virtual group meetings provide a nurturing, non-judgmental environment with individuals who have shared acoustic neuroma experiences. You can also find educational opportunities on a variety of AN topics of interest, emotional support, and encouragement throughout all stages of the AN journey.
The meeting will be facilitated by Dyanne Hughes, an acoustic neuroma post-treatment patient.
