TOPIC:
Managing Chronic Pain and AN
Chronic pain related to acoustic neuroma and/or in addition to other physical issues, can impact quality of life.
This discussion will provide some strategies and tips for day-to-day management of the stress, anxiety, and emotional issues that may come with managing pain; speaking with family and friends about what you are experiencing; and advocating for yourself in seeking remedies and solutions.
Presented by Megan Sherod, Ph.D.
University of Central Florida
ANA Medical Advisory Board
Family members, caregivers, friends, and interested persons are welcome to attend. Support group meetings provide a nurturing, non-judgmental environment with individuals who have shared acoustic neuroma experiences. You can also find educational opportunities on a variety of AN topics of interest, emotional support and encouragement throughout all stages of the AN journey.
The meeting will be facilitated by Martha Emory, an acoustic neuroma post-treatment patient.
